Development

Buner is one of the underdeveloped districts in in NWFP (Pukhtoonkhwa) of Pakistan. Promises have JowarToDaggar.jpgbeen made over the years by political representatives but less have been accomplished in terms of practicality. It's worth a mention that Buner Valley have seen more developmental projects during the membership of Speaker provincial assembly Bakht Jehan Khan some work have been done on the roads, Schools, a girl's College, a polytechnic college, an up gradation of the DHQ hospital but there are still some loopholes that needs to be fixed.
 
Routine developmental projects are carried out by TMA-I and II, EDO (Works and Services). MRDP and CBRM are also involved in various programs for improvement of social and physical infrastructure in Buner Valley.

Community Based Schools (CBSs)
District Buner being assessed as one of the high priority poor areas for quality intervention in the education sector and particularly female education has been selected as a project site. During the reporting period 9 CBS have been established that provide quality education to 453 children (both boys and girls) of 9 villages. The CBSs are managed by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Each PTA comprises of 10 members selected from the community.

Buner Girls Education Project


Buner Girls Education Project locates willing communities and provide them with technical and financial support to set up Community Based Schools. Each school is being run by a Parent - Teacher Association (PTA), and the technical and managerial capacity of which is to be enhanced through a structured capacity-building program. The Buner Girls Education Project aims to establish 10 community based schools over a period of one year . So far, the project has accomplished 9 community based schools, which provide education to 453 children of the rural areas of District Buner.
