Community Based Schools (CBSs)
District Buner being assessed as one
of the high priority poor areas for quality intervention in the education sector and particularly female education has been
selected as a project site. During the reporting period 9 CBS have been established that provide quality education to 453
children (both boys and girls) of 9 villages. The CBSs are managed by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Each PTA comprises
of 10 members selected from the community.
Buner Girls Education Project
Buner Girls Education Project locates willing communities and provide them with
technical and financial support to set up Community Based Schools. Each school is being run by a Parent - Teacher Association
(PTA), and the technical and managerial capacity of which is to be enhanced through a structured capacity-building program.
The Buner Girls Education Project aims to establish 10 community based schools over a period of one year . So far, the project
has accomplished 9 community based schools, which provide education to 453 children of the rural areas of District Buner.
